Way back when

by TheDarkCloudBehindthePoet   Sep 2, 2016

I remember a time long ago but not too long that I couldn't tie my own shoes,
When smiles were constant and we all could have a good laugh together,
The suns shimmer off the water was so beautiful that even Poseidon took human form just to see,
and let's not forget the ice cream man,

Don't you remember those days?
Hiking up hills just to listen to the wind play her flute and have your hair and clothes dance to the rhythm,
Not afraid to get dirty as we wrestled and threw each other in the Earth,
but the rain that came after was the best part,

They would say when it rains it is because Zeus is sad,
but his tears didn't feel like sorrow,
His tears felt blessed, proud, and happy,
Opening our mouth and arms to his love, even Hera's worms would join in,

And when we finally got home and went to sleep,
The Lunar mothers light shun through our window to keep us safe,
as Morpheus made sure we dreamed into the night,
I miss those days.
