Addiction - recovery

It was then that he fell to his knees; overcome by the fears that continued to hold onto his soul. As he looked into his empty hands he began to feel lost, his chest tightened and as it consumed his being with every short breathe that he could manage the voices grew louder...stronger...they spoke lies of defeat and told tales of hurt...it was then as he considered the consumption of darkness that within him a light ignited...it flickered, it swayed and as its presence grew it became fierce and controlled with a purpose to remove all that was dark...it was then that he did not stand but rose; from the darkness he pulled himself into the light and he could breathe...he could feel and he could taste and smell all that surrounded him...and as with any light there were still shadows but as any shadow does they fell behind him while he lead the way to his happiness where forever he would stay....
