Six Feet Under the Sun

by Maple Tree   May 23, 2017

Within a dark cave,
buried deep in my soul;
resides a vault of tears.

The key to unlock such sadness
Is pain of a drug addict child,
or the cold bitterness of a grieving babe.

I'm just a mother who decays silently
as each day passes.

Time has become a tourture
each moment I breathe.

There are times when I
wish to feel the cold depths
of six feet under.....

But when I hear them whispering
"I love you",

I climb on out
to watch the sunrise
as we bare the burdens
of life

Andrea, this is so beautifully sad. How do you do It? I want to weep for your struggle and weep for the sheer beauty of your words. Well done my friend-

Be still my heart! I want to reach out across this screen and give you huge amounts of hugs. My heart is glad you have found hope, and though I cannot imagine the depth of the darkness and hurt in your family, knowing you can fight together... that is heart-warming. I love those last few lines as they are a simple but powerful reminder that love can give us hope and wisdom in times where we feel so burdened down.

Sending thoughts and hugs, always! <3
