Work It!

by Kitty Cat Lady   Sep 20, 2017

Spark the neurons up
Inflate to fill my lungs
Stretch, prepare for what's ahead
The hard work's still to come

Trainers on and ipod loud
Motivate my mind
Muscles piston activity
Achievement I will find

Push it to the limits
Powered adrenalin rush
Music louder, faster
This challenge I will crush

Focus only on the goal
Endorphins flood my system
Time is closely measured
Breathing hard and body glistens

Blood pumps fast, limbs scream
Heart works overtime
Energy flows hard through my veins
I imagine the finish line

Pushing past the painful bit
I know I'll see this through
A promise I made to myself
And I'm going to keep it too

Elated now the end's in sight
I really gave my all
Ragged air and aching form
To the shower I crawl!

I am so glad that I am Reding this.Going to the gym and working out usted to be fun now its getting harder. When you have yo take steroids so you can breathe and dealing with hot flashes (lol) and the weight won't go down well there is always hope. Enjoyed reading

Thanks Dagmar, I'm glad you enjoyed it :-)
I still have to force myself to do it, but it's my promise to myself and I'm always glad I did when I've finished ... I like that 'smug' feeling ;-) lol

Just there, you have it, Kitty! 'A gentle stroll'. I have two dogs and so I have to walk them but it is always as gently as I can manage.

I'm pretty sure it still counts Ben, and I bet you get lots of poetry inspiration while you're walking :-)

I have gone through just about every exercise regime you could name from weight training to running. At the age of 36, I have a terrible left knee, tennis elbow, two bad shoulders and a bad back from my obsession with completing 100 sit-ups a day a few years back. In conclusion, and to sum a long and pathetic story up, I have decided that rigorous exercise and I have never - and will never - see eye to eye...

    Great write, Kitty

Haha ... Oh Ben, I have to strap up my poorly knees, but exercise keeps me sane, and in my head it doesn't count unless it's rigorous! You could always 'work it' on a gentle stroll? Lol :-)
