beaches are never quite the same

by pmmurphy   Nov 15, 2017

if only laying on the beach was still enjoyable
where a summer breeze flows through the sand
as I dig my toes into a crevice

she was the wind
going through seasons
once warm now cold
she glided through air
and seeped beneath the ground
this is where she met my oceans
causing wave after wave

my eyes are best shut
not wide open
only time will tell why these eyes stay timid
and the lids refuse to shut
like chained up doors

sooner or later her image
becomes a rodeo clown who got tossed
alittle too much

my eyes
have now found their long lost slumber
this is when summer turned to winter
this is when I took my feet out of the sand
