Mother's Love is like Christmas Lights

by Milo   Dec 25, 2017

For decades from afar
I have looked on
through the house window
of loving families.
Their Christmas lights
adorned their cheerful souls.

I wander for years in the winter storm
asking myself, how does it feel
to have Christmas lights in my heart?

28 years later I am no longer in the dark,
asking that question anymore.

You may not be my Mother
when I entered this world,
but you are Mother's Love to me
that lights my way back home.

Note: Abandoned by my biological mother, it has taken a lifetime it seems to finally call someone dear to me, mom. Merry Christmas.
