I forgot; I’ll never forget.

by Beautiful Tragedy   Jan 3, 2018

I forgot how much I love the sound of your voice;
And when I seen you the other night it filled me with joy in less time than it takes to fill a glass of water.
I’d asked you to play pool;
Something we haven’t done in a really long time because we got too busy playing Jenga and getting
Lost in each other,
While trying to find someone for billy to talk to.
But you opted to hold hands;
Knowing I was tired and it was the kind of night that we just wanted to appreciate each other.
So every time you spoke I memorized the sound of your voice;
And as you stood at the counter I engraved every detail of your face-
The laugh lines under your eyes,
The stubble on your chin and the way some of the hairs were a bit of a perfect mess,
The shape of your nose,
And how you always look so at peace when you’re beside me-
In my head.
It’s the smallest details that make you the most beautiful;
The way you hang your head back laughing like a little kid that makes you the most adorable-
And the most perfectly imperfect way that your hair stands when you take your hat off that makes you the most you.
I forgot how much I missed the sound of your voice;
But I will never forget just how much
I love you.

    This is a perfect love poem, BT. It's the little things that we fall in love with, isn't it? Or put it this way, it's the little things we miss when that special someone isn't with us.

    Take care and all the best,

    Ben
