Equal

by Domenico Sottile   Apr 19, 2018

As a universal truth
And as per the US constitution all Men
(all human beings) then
are created equal…
and not to have millions of poor subject-cats
with a few ruling selfish aristocrats
But all equal
in enjoying a prosperous Life
Happiness and Liberty
and not being oppressed by poverty

Not with billions of enslaved people
while slave-owners command
with a simple whistle
but really equal
There aren’t any races nor classes
who are inferior nor superior
making us look different in a mirror
Equal
Not with subservient women
while all rules
are dictated by men
Equal

No starving have-nots
exploited by a few egotistical
all-is-mine-nuts
Equal
A world with resources shared
by all citizen really
and medical care
for sure equally
shared
and enjoyed universally
and taxes for the good of everyone
not for the benefit
of a small lot on the mount
with lust enriching their own account
Equal

No distinctions
between emigrants nor immigrants
where each being
as a citizen of the world
everywhere stands
Equally friends

Folks
I am not making a great demand
but what is it about the word equal
that the world does not understand?
