    I love the image you conjure here of a moth - drab, perhaps, in life - but not once they fly headlong (willingly) into a flame. We've all seen it: the flame suddenly is injected with a new passion - it burns with such vivid intensity. But only briefly, and then it is gone again. I suppose any 'moth' having been part of that would never find much to live for again. They had burnt the brightest, felt - at last - such intense life (if only momentarily) that they had soaked up everything worth having in this drab world.
    No butterfly ever gets that colourful.
