Timeless Paws

by Rhinehalt   Mar 6, 2019

Grace granted in each paw print,
A world of knowledge locked in their eyes,
A power forged by their strong spirits,
Hunters born to rule, to exist in this time.

But by man's judgment, soon no one will ever see
These magnificent beasts outside of books,
Lost from nature's reality.

Now what can we do to stop this vanishing
Before they are lost inside a child's dream.

This was super intriguing to me as the first time I read it, I took it as wild animals that are being hunted and killed by the hands of greedy humanity. Then, reading it the second time, I saw these creatures AS the hunters, the leaders, and with your mention of children's dreams, I thought of mythical creatures or something existing in a world of fantasy. I love the mystery even in such few lines and the idea of this creature's spirit and beauty through wisdom, that perhaps is misunderstood or distrusted by fellow man.
