Patience

by Christen Kuikoua   Dec 30, 2025

Patience is the mark of the wise;
haste is the companion of folly.
For ignorance is born where
understanding is refused,
and lack of knowledge grows
when instruction is ignored.

Becoming is honorable when
guided by wisdom,
but arrival without
understanding is foolishness.

Better to walk slowly with insight
than to run swiftly into error.
Wisdom delights in patience,
but foolishness calls it labor.

The wise make patience their habit;
the foolish endure it only when forced.

Patience exalts a person,
and in honoring wisdom,
it also honors God.

While ignorance is the birth of folly
and only the unwise choose it daily
and are put to shame.
