When Trust Is Broken

by Oluwaseye Olayode Taiwo   May 11, 2026

When the vows began to fade away,
And love no longer chose to stay,
A faithful heart was torn apart,
By secrets hidden in the dark.

A man once stood so proud and strong,
Believing nothing could go wrong,
For in his wife he found his peace,
A love he prayed would never cease.

Her loyalty became his crown,
The strength that held his whole life down,
Her gentle words, her caring hand,
Made him feel blessed and firmly stand.

For every man who rises high,
There is a woman standing by,
A faithful soul, so true and kind,
With love that heals the weary mind.

But when betrayal finds its way,
And trust begins to drift away,
A man can feel his whole world shake,
His heart too wounded, bent to break.

The pain cuts deeper than the skin,
It storms the soul that lies within,
His thoughts grow heavy, dark with pain,
Like endless nights of pouring rain.

His smile fades slowly from his face,
His strength no longer keeps its place,
The world he built with love and care,
Now feels abandoned, cold, and bare.

Yet even in the deepest night,
God still remains the guiding light,
For broken hearts can heal again,
And joy can rise beyond the pain.

Though trust was lost and tears were cried,
God walks beside the hurt inside,
He lifts the weak back to their feet,
And gives the soul new strength to breathe.

For storms may come and leave their scar,
But healing is not placed too far,
And through God’s grace, a man can stand,
Restored again by Heaven’s hand.
