Imaginary Girlfriend

by Cody   Jan 22, 2005

I had an imaginary girlfriend
And no, she's not my hand
I took her to the movies
And we ran barefoot in the sand

She was my one and only
The love of my life
I would've done anything for her
She was going to be my wife

Until one day
I took her to the mall
The next thing I knew
I was surrounded by padded walls

I was in a jacket
With my arms to my back
I screamed cause I was
Trapped like a rat

I didn't know what was happening
Until a man came to the door
I said, "where's my girlfriend?"
And he said, "dead, on the floor."

I looked down and saw her
Lying there, not moving
I wanted to cry
But my mind was zooming

I looked up and said,
"Then why am I here?"
He smiled and replied,
"To experience your worst fear."

"The death of my girlfriend?"
I asked in shock
The man said, "no,
Have you forgot?"

"Your worse fear is
Realizing your girlfriends not real."
He laughed as he said,
"I wonder what you must feel."

I thought he was mad
Cause I saw her on the ground
Lying there, dead
Suddenly everything turned upside down

The room was spinning
And I felt myself fall
Downward I went
I wondered, 'what is this all?'

I looked down to see
Me in my bed
Sleeping in peace
Resting my head

I stared at myself
Not believing what I see
In an instant I land
Right on top of me

I shot out of bed
I'm alright I seem
As I come to realize
It was all but a dream
