Emptiness

by forgotten   Feb 21, 2005

I can smell you as if you were here

I sometime catch myself gasping for air

trying to re catch the breathe you take away

or the mind that drifts to thoughts of you all day.

I can feel your touch just as it was before

before that dark day you walked out the door,

leaving me all alone, my tears to cry

contemplating all the reasons why.

I can taste your kiss on my lips

remembering you arms around my hips,

pulling me closer and into your arms

escaping me from all my old harms.

I can hear you voice, it sounds so near

I promised I wouldn't shed a tear

but, my dearest darling, I lied to you

for crying is all I seem to do.

I can see you and your Hazel eyes

that day that we said our goodbyes

they were cold and almost empty too

when you whispered, "I never loved you"
