Shut the door

I knew this would happen
stuff like this always does
you said you really loved me
but you didn't know what love was

there was another person
i knew it from the start
you said you'd rather be with me
but you didn't wanna break her heart

i told myself to move on
and that it wasn't worth it
i have to separate myself
i told myself that i could do it

but things aren't going as i planed
I'm to close to the fire
my friends all tell me to step back
before the flame get higher

i try to pull myself away
but you're pulling me in closer
you tell me what i wanna know
you say what you know i wanna hear

but I'm done listening to you
it's not worth it anymore
I've burned all the bridges
I've shut the door
