Her last winter night

by Elynnka   Jun 28, 2005

One winter day, she sat outside alone,
She couldn’t take it anymore and ran away from home.
Too hard to bear the screams of those daily fights,
Too hard to bear the tears she shed so many nights…

She found shelter under a frozen old tree,
The screams echoed in her head, she could not be free;
Thoughts, memories… in her mind remain
To torture her forever… her everlasting pain…

Snowflakes falling gently on her jaded face,
She had no hope and was waiting for death’s embrace…
Ravens came to announce the end, her last good-bye,
No one cared… she fell to her knees and started to cry…

She was all alone, but that is what she chose:
To die by herself, so no one else knows
That she was too weak to fight, could not resist,
She knew the truth, she won’t be missed…

She took one last breath and shed the last tear,
For the first time, she could not feel pain or fear,
She froze to death embraced by the cold night,
But the coldness came from within… she lost her last fight…
