Autumns Advice

by Lenny   Aug 3, 2005

Flaming trees of golds and reds
Align the skies once more,
Trodden leaves of browns and greys
Swathe the forest floor,
The old and wise view from afar,
While youth enquire near,
The able season autumn
Brings a message to beware,
For when dear autumn packs his bags
And journeys as is norm,
Vile winter shall come spiteful
And riding on a storm,
His eyes are cold and lonely,
But do not be deceived,
For his sadness turned to anger
And that anger turned to greed,
His frosty fingers swipe,
Claiming all the world has made,
As he tosses sheets of white,
With his unforgiving spade,
But do not fret or worry,
For his patience will expire,
And then his sister spring,
Shall come with her orb of fire,
To melt away his frosty spite,
And replace his angers toil,
With a blissful trail of blossoms,
To mend the thawing soil,
And with these final words,
Dear autumn makes his way,
And Winter to the west,
Creates a dawn of hurtful grey.
