You always told me
That you understand
You smile like you do
But you don't know who I am

You shake your head at me
And tell me I am wrong
You never let me talk
You just make me play along

Can't you tell?
Is it that hard to see?
You don't find things worthy
Of the importance they are to me

So you erase what I love
And you don't find it a sin

I'm chained in this life
Everything is so unreal

If I try to speak up
For what I think is right
You critize and mock me
You always have to fight

Let me just talk
I have a voice for a reason
You can't disagree with me
If I say winter's my favorite season

I'm not trying to rebel
I'm just saying what's true
What matters to me
Doesn't always matter to you

But that doesn't make it worthless
If I care about something enough
Who are you to take it away?
Why make it more rough?

You don't get me
Or the solitude that I seek

And for once let me speak

Don't interrupt me
And please don't ridicule
You aren't me at all
You don't know what I feel

If you love me like I know you do
Don't take from me what I love
If it isn't hurting me, leave it
And I can rise above

I'm sick of being silent

You can disagree with me
