Graham Cracker Kisses

by Amanda Bee   Oct 26, 2005

Here you come from across the room,
still a little unsteady on your feet.
Clutching your pacifier in one hand while
holding your bottle between two tiny teeth.

You've got your eyes on the prize;
Your radar's led you to my graham crackers.
Now there's no where for me to hide.
Here comes my little cookie snatcher.

You've anticipated my next move,
as I quickly hide them behind my back.
You simply quiver your lower lip,
knowing I'm defenseless against such an attack.

So I go ahead and hand them over,
(hey, I didn't really want them anyway!).
Then you allow me to cover your face with kisses,
(well, it's the least that you could pay).

With cookie crumbs on your chubby cheeks,
with cookie crumbs in your chubby fists,
you crawl up into my lap and
give me the sweetest graham cracker kiss!

Once again you've played unfairly,
all in order to get your way.
Once again I've let you win
the same way I do everyday.
