Angels

by AGirlWorthFightingFor   Dec 3, 2005

You look at me like there's an angel inside
Pray you do not want to be proven right
Devine qualities I would not proclaim
The horns keep my halo straight

The souls around me
I am constantly shocking
I'm really not so different or hard to understand
But this world is long for Biblical knowledge

People forget what angels do
Serve God's will all for you
And God was vengeful in the beginning
He sent an angel when he needed a killing

Can you imagine a creature like that?
One wing always dipped in blood
But angels do have free will
Contrary to popular opinion

To be a Servant of the Powerful, I chose
Therefore I am powerful, but I am not alone
I ascend ever higher upon Jacob's ladder
But I'll never be anything more than a messenger

The message delivered is what matters
Take it, as is, or return to Sender
Shoot me if it does justice never to have known
I entrust you could have judged it on your own

When you recieve a message or call
You need not remember us at all
But if anyone happens to
Heaven eternally shines on you

Great biblical referrence! That always makes a poem stronger. Hmm, this seems like a controversial poem, but those are my favourites. It gets people thinking. Great stuff!
