Everything, You'd Say.

by Drew Gold   Dec 16, 2005

And I could think up
a million different
things to which you
would definitely agree,
but in the wake
of countless numbers
and empty statements,
is there anything
you wish to say
on your own behalf?

- is there - any place you'd
like to take me; perhaps -
share with me a dream of
yours. We've both had them,
of course, it would seem that
yours were less focused,
fewer details; an absence of
discretion.

Maybe you'd
prefer to dance in the reverie
of everything
and emerge from the edges
unscathed and clean;
an experience unlike anything
else you'd ever seen,
or could ever
imagine yourself to be.

And maybe you're contentness
is in nodding, soundlessly,
seldom replying,
carefully mindless.

I can't yet tell..
