Mistakes

Almost a year after,
When her heart had started to mend,
Another guy came along,
Didn't want to be her friend

At first she didn't like him,
But he continued to pursue,
Promised he'd never hurt her,
He'd be the best he could.

Still she didn't want him,
Didn't want to get hurt again,
Until the first night they met up
And had a kiss in the rain.

She fell for him so hard,
And it seemed he was a good guy.
His intentions seemed to be pure
To make her happy, he would try.

She looked into his eyes,
Knew she was falling in love
She was wary, but happy
Wondered if he was sent from above.

Then one day, it changed,
Said he didn't want her anymore.
What the f u c k had changed? she wondered
As he walked out the door.

The pain all came back,
Like the first time she'd been hurt
Her heart broke again that night,
It was a lesson she hadn't learnt.

The tears fell down once more,
The feelings had returned.
She trusted him with everything
And once again she got burned

He told he he'd never hurt her,
With him her heart was safe
He'd hold on to it forever
And keep it in a special place.

And then it dawned on her,
Her heart will never mend..
Because, she'll continue to make the same mistakes again
