Whiskey Can Kill An Open Heart

by JustAFoolInLove   Jun 27, 2006

Everything you say or do
Shows me another side of you
Your life it nuts, but still you’re strong,
Been going that way for oh, so long

You say his life has turned around
As he walks away without a sound
Leaving behind the ones who care
One moment he’s with you, then nothing but air

The vodka on his breath is always strong
To drunk to answer when you ask what’s wrong
I don’t see how he does this to you
After everything loving that you did and still do

You plead with him, “don’t
If you think it’ll help, it won’t”
But he turns a deaf ear to your pleas,
Walks out the door as you fall to your knees

He left so quickly and gave you no choice
But to sit home and wait for the slur in his voice
He’s driving a knife straight into your heart
With a Jack Daniels label, and that’s just the start

One look into your eyes could stop a train
So in resisting your pleading, what could he gain?
Even best friends that once had lost touch
Can come together and see that they’d missed so much

    Hey Zac,
Of course I remember you. Couldn't forget. People still hang you over my head. =P I don't have your number anymore...and I don't have texting anymore but maybe email or something? Facebook? Do you ever go online anymore? And next time you talk to Chelsea, tell her I said "heya spaghetti head" :P How've you been?
    Call sometime if you want

I commented on this before my account was deleted, didn't I? I agree with them both. You're still an amazing writer!! How sweet of you to write for Car, or about her. Whichever. I'm glad to find that you're both patched things up. Well, thanks for the comments on my poems. Made me laugh and its good to know you thought of me long enough to do that, lol! Adios
