Let's pretend
You actually cared.
Let's pretend
You meant everything you said.
Let's pretend
You were mature
And acted like a man.
Let's pretend
I couldn't do better than you.
Let's pretend
That I'm okay with this
And that it doesn't bother me.
Let's pretend
This is still going somewhere.
Let's pretend
That every story
Has a happy ending.
We can't pretend forever.
