This poem has really touched me. I can't personally relate, but I have some friends who can and I know how it has broken up their lives. This is a beautifully sad poem and by the way you wrote it I can tell that you love your family very much.

    Take Care and God Bless,

This poem really hits home. Happened to me a lot when I was little. If it wasn't my dad it was my mom. I guess they're better now, but the memories are still there. As for the poem. I loved it. Perfect in every single way. I like how you portrayed the prayers of the children, then of your own. Excellent write indeed. i love it! never stop and keep strong!x

This was brutally honest and very sad...I could feel a lump forming whislt reading.
The vocabulary was a treat, the imagery creates vivid pictures and the flow is flawless.
The ending has huge impact, and was a perfect was to wrap the poem up.
Beautiful writing on such a sad story.

This poem really speaks to me. I actually have a friends whose mom's father beat and raped her every night, and finally at the age of 14 had the courage to speak up. Then she had to take a lie detector test, and she failed, while her father passed. Isn't it sad that the world has come to this? Where we can't even come to love or trust our own fathers?
