My love for you

(This is a poem that i wrote for english class, i had to use quotes from other poems to composite it so if it resembles a poem you have read that is why. also, all the poems that i took quotes from are on this site.)

A beautiful life
had just started.
His love could make me whole,
it was not easily found.
As i walked a mountain path
one flower caught my eye,
it's beauty made me pause
and i could not pass it by.
I thought it was behind me,
this love from my past,
but a simple flower
has shown me it still lasts.
Touch the precious gem.
You told me once
you loved me,
that i could believe in you.
Someone i can count on, too.
Yes, you are there sometimes.
I keep looking in all the places,
where you are supposed to be.
Something isn't right,
it shouldn't be this way.
Please talk to me,
I'm still begging you to stay.
Pleading with god to give us strength.
I can't seem to let you go.
But i will go on without you,
and i want to make sure you know.
I know things
will never be the same
but my love will never end
because i cared about you then
and i care about you still.
But broken hearts do heal,
that's where the strength comes from.
Things will get better,
if you have hope,
then they always do.
The time has come
for me to let go,
time to forget about my past.
I'm still in love with you,
i still hang on
every word you say.
