Place of Harmony

by Constantinesgirl   Feb 28, 2007

The sun hangs lower in the sky still,
Staining what was once blue with rich colors of orange and red.
Gentle low tide waves grow and shrink against the sand,
Drawing forth memories of a time long ago.

Somewhere in the distance, perhaps among the dunes,
Nocturnal creatures stir, ready for the night ahead.
Along the horizon I can see the dolphins playing,
Getting in some time before they take to their watery beds.

Sighing I stand, the sand beneath my feet grainy.
I join my love, my life, my everything.
We walk along the pier, gazing over the side the depths below.
I am in wonder of everything.

This place is the meaning of peace;
It offers more than any other.
Here nature is in perfect harmony.
Here everything is protected and nothing is disturbed.

A light breeze whips around me and my love,
Causing me to shiver slightly.
He wraps his arm around me as we make our way back,
Back to where civilization waits and nature is no longer surrounding me.

I will be back to this place,
In time I'll find my way back.
I glance back one last time to my place of peace,
And to the sky, which is now filled with diamond stars.
