Clocks

by No Need For A Name   Mar 10, 2007

Hear the process moving
Round in circles again
Hear the constant pounding
Of our heads

Everything is moving faster
And we're slowly killing us
Everything is disaster
Rewind back up

We hear it on the radio
A calming frequency
We hear it on the stereo
Ticking ticking

(Chorus)
And our bodies are clocks
And our minute hand has stopped
Our gears are all stuck
And all we hear is
Ticktock ticktock

Seconds fly by
Feel us growing old
Seconds excite
No one at all

Now these rust stained hands
Are finally slowing down
My shaking finger tips
Are finally stopping now

Now my biological make up
I've gotten washed off
No more timers to wake me up
I'm finally shutting off

(Chorus)
And our bodies are clocks
And our minute hand has stopped
Our gears are all stuck
And all we hear is
Ticktock ticktock
And our minds are minutes
So easy to forget
All these blackmailing secrets
And all we hear is
Ticktock ticktock

We're now slowing down
Killing time and sound
Our time has run out
But I can still hear
You breathing in my ear
The motion of the gears
Inside of our heads
It's never too late
It's never too late
To rewind the ticking

(Chorus)
And our bodies are clocks
And our minute hand has stopped
Our gears are all stuck
And all we hear is
Ticktock ticktock
And our minds are minutes
So easy to forget
All these blackmailing secrets
And all we hear is
Ticktock ticktock

::Sigh:: I'm a bit disappointed with this one, it's good, just not as good as I looking for. Here, let me see what I can do.

    Hear the process moving
    Round in circles again
    Hear the constant pounding
    Of our heads

    Everything is moving faster
    And we're slowly killing us
^After reading it, I understood what you meant by this, but it does NOT fit the way it was written, i would suggest changing your words.
    Everything is disaster
    Rewind back up

We hear it on the radio
    A calming frequency
We hear it on the stereo
    Ticking ticking

    (Chorus)
    And our bodies are clocks
And our minute hand has stopped
    Our gears are all stuck
    And all we hear is
    Ticktock ticktock
^I normally adore your chorus'! on this one though, ::Sigh:: i would not have the repetition of the "and"s that you have, its completely unnessary and i dont like how it goes with the rest of the lyrics. try this:
    "And our bodies are clocks
    Our minute hand has stopped
    Our gears are all stuck
    All we hear is
    Ticktock ticktock"

Doesn't that sound a bit better?

    Seconds fly by
    Feel us growing old
^I feel "Feel" (no pun intended haha) should be "Feeling"
    Seconds excite
    No one at all

    Now these rust stained hands
    Are finally slowing down
    My shaking finger tips
    Are finally stopping now

    Now my biological make up
    I've gotten washed off
No more timers to wake me up
    I'm finally shutting off

    (Chorus)
    And our bodies are clocks
And our minute hand has stopped
    Our gears are all stuck
    And all we hear is
    Ticktock ticktock
    And our minds are minutes
    So easy to forget
    All these blackmailing secrets
    And all we hear is
    Ticktock ticktock
^Again, the extra "And"s i dont think are necessary.

I liked it. It was just OK in my opinion though, you can and have done much much better. But it was good :]

    We're now slowing down
    Killing time and sound
    Our time has run out
    But I can still hear
    You breathing in my ear
    The motion of the gears
    Inside of our heads
    It's never too late
    It's never too late
    To rewind the ticking

    (Chorus)
    And our bodies are clocks
And our minute hand has stopped
    Our gears are all stuck
    And all we hear is
    Ticktock ticktock
    And our minds are minutes
    So easy to forget
    All these blackmailing secrets
    And all we hear is
    Ticktock ticktock
