Wow I just now realized that you are 8 years old today
No wonder my world is so dark and Grey
I really just wish I could be there
To show you that I do care
and that your mommy never stopped loving you
I want you to know it is true
That I made some very bad life choices
but I still her your and your sisters voices
They speak to my heart
every time my world seems to fall apart
Even though I do not get to see you, you help me
to just open up and eyes and see
that things were not all my fault, like I said they were
you know a lot of that is a blur
but enough about that, how have you been
it is hard to believe in 2 years, you will be ten
You probably hate me, you must think I gave in
I promise I didn't, I tried to win
I fought it tooth and nail
I went though hell
to get you and your sister back
without you my skies aren't just dark, they're black
And the rain always seems to fall
All the times I wanted to just break the law
and take you and your sister and run, as fast as I could
But I knew it wouldn't do any good
you were 3 then, it seems like it was just a while ago
that I let all my emotions show
when that white van drove out of sight
never in my life have I wanted so bad to fight
I could have took on an army the way I felt then
For you I'm glad it came to and end
