Darkened Depths of Shadow

Darkened depths of shadow
It is you I fear
Upon the night a hunger
A chance to hide the tears

Inside the wounds of heartache
The haunting's cross the mind
Among the broken pieces
A teardrop's left behind

A shattering inside the soul
Shards find a haven there
Inside the depths of shadow
They're tended with such care.

But low the night has come upon
The depths of darkness plea
To tear the soul from but a breath
That's lost the will to flee.

Heed not the hunger of the heart
For night has come to see
Inside the thoughts that cloud the mind
Of broken memories.
