Moonlight in the Darkness

by jac   Oct 26, 2007

I've come to truly appreciate every God-given moment of my life
Every leaf blowing across the ground, the dust swirling in the wind..
The rain tapping on the rooftops is God's music to my ears
The droplets splashing on my face is a blessing in disguise.. how lucky am I?

One more day, time after time, isn't enough to view one more sunset
The moment when the sun lays down across the golden fields of wheat
Another hour isn't enough to observe the beautiful moonlight through the trees
Every star in the sky gives me another reason to wait for the next night

Dragonflies soaring through the sky, it's a freedom anyone would adore
Watching my nephew, merely an infant, curl his fingers and the toes on his feet
gives me the reasons to keep trying to reach for the simple and wonderful times

Simple leaves on the trees, gathering the frost in the winter, growing in the spring
Everything in this world has it's own meaning, own reason for existance
Don't ever take things for granted, they may not be there tomorrow

Let the lightning strike down across the rolling countryside
Let the ocean's waves crash in fury against the cliffs lining the sea
May the sun shine through the days, let the weather change the leaves

Watch people grow, watch them leave, see the seasons change
Love is strong, weep when you feel the need, but enjoy your life one day at a time
You'll never know which moment will be your last...
