Listen

by Georgi   Jan 23, 2008

My heart sinks back against my spine,
As to my fate it's here resigned,
And bitter sweet redemption sings
To call my angels aching wings.

Acceptance lies in whispered words
From my dry lips transferred to hers,
And on her skin my words will thaw
While darkness lays beneath my door.

The question hangs within the air,
But answer she need not declare
For fate is sprinkled in her eyes
And actions need not be reprised.

"Your deed is done" such empty sin
Is causing this now crawling skin,
And for what deed can deeds be done
If such can end in beauties none?

That was my fate and fate there ends.
As fate won't grow without amends.
Look far into your angel's eyes.
You need no more; you have the prize.
