    Hello Andrea,

The title made this reader think of men wearing spandex, but no!

A much more serious and somber write...

The way you describe a battle through life with mental illness is clever. Lithium is an old treatment, but with its side effects which you touch upon. I can only imagine what it feels like to have manic depression or some other disorder that can make you feel either suicidal with deep dark depression or as invincible as superman. This feeling is his natural high when he feels on top of his world. I agree let him fly one last time...

Andrea, this is an incredible insightful write. You have clearly shown an understanding and empathy for this afflcted person; enough to watch him set himself free.

    Excellent!

    Take care,

    Michael

    Andrea,

I think Michael has just about covered everything there is to say about this poem: it is insightful and perceptive and really is a very carefully approached write and well thought out.
As sad as it is, I enjoyed it immensely, like I enjoy everything you write.
All the best and I hope you are well,
    Ben
