Hidden Loss

by Baby Rainbow   Jul 15, 2014

When you lose someone
you deeply love,
you lose someone
you'll never know;
for you will never get the
chance to see them grow.

You lose the dreams
of plans unmade, of
memories unborn and
a family whom time deceived.

When you lose someone
you deeply love,
you lose everything
you once believed in.

You begin
to lose
yourself.

Apart of you seems to die when you lose someone very close to you. Though people say they will always be in your heart. It's not really the same is it? The title speaks for the voice of the poem to me. Hiding deep inside are feelings no one knows about. And loss seems to make that grow. Sometimes no one knows what we go through because its hard to express. Death really affects a ton of people and it seems it is no different here. Family and friends each grieve different and here it seemed to affect the character the most. Very well written.

I loved the first stanza because it had a flow and a rhythm to it the next stanza after that didn't but it didn't take the beauty out of the overall and it's true losing someone you truly care about will not only change you it will crush you but life will stop for no man or woman alike so be brave Saffie 5/5
