The Greatest Time Of Year

by Peter DeJesse   Nov 20, 2005

The turkey is all bones
Cakes and pies are a memory
The sporting events are done
Thanksgiving 2005 is history

Time to put up the tree
Greeting cards to send out
Shopping for gifts is next
Giving is what it's all about

The joyous spirit of love
Has filled my heart once more
Why doesn't it stay year 'round
It is a feeling I most adore

Seeing smiles on everyone's face
Hearing the seasonal music playing
Everyone is caught up in countdown
You can sense the excitement growing

Aroma of cookies and pine
Fill the air that surrounds us
Everyone is attending parties
Celebrating the birth of Jesus

Sometimes we forget the meaning
Of why we celebrate the holiday
Christmas restores our faith in man
A faith that we should have everyday

    Beautiful Peter
We should keep our faith all year through not only during the holidays. Enjoyed.

    Love Ann
