First person poetry

Just a hint, usually by the first stanza your audience can tell if the poem is first person, therefore the constant use of "I" isn't necessary and actually takes away from most writes, be creative, try omitting it throughout........

I used to do this a lot Bob,

This is a great tip, You can still write the poem using I in every line then go back and delete them all and read aloud.

It will read the same, the flow will improve and the reader will read to the end.
