A mother's love

by samson   Feb 9, 2008

She told us the world was ours for the taking, and told us to go to our rooms.
She told us the sky was blue, but don't look at it to long because you'll relise the world is cold.
She protected us for hurricans, when we lived in the Mid-West.
She held our hands when we were scared, but turned ours away when she was.
She told us the ocean was beautiful, but having never seen it herself.
She told us our dreams were possible while she discounted her own.
My mother told us a lot of things some true, some not
But overall she told one thing that will always be true, that she loved us.
