Your will is mine

by kayla massie   Apr 2, 2008

I close my eyes
as tight as i can
i bow my head and
fold my hands

on bended knee
i begin to pray
"Dear God, please help me
to change my ways."

As the words come out
the tears start to fall
I confess to him
that I've given my all

I've tried it my way
it's time to do your will
I know I'm not perfect
but no one is

I lie a little
but all sins the same
That lie is in the book
written next to my name

so change me lord
one step at a time
forgive me God
for your will is mine.

there are days i don't do
what I'm told to do
and though i know it's wrong
i purposely break rules

i put up walls
and don't let people in
and like everyone else
i have a mind full of sin.

i don't pray like i should
I'm not patient enough
i hurt people's feelings
cuz i think I'm tough

but inside my tough shell
is a remorseful heart
begging you to come in
and pick it apart

I've made some mistakes
but all sins the same
That mistake is in the book
written next to my name

So change me lord
one step at a time
i surrender O God
for your will is mine.
