The pain can be felt by the reader miles around. It is a scornful day when the heart breaks.

I like how you chose to refrence a dove. Doves are always linked to love and the fact that you spoke of one being atop your grave just really made this poem speak volumes louder than it would have otherwise.

So dig my grave and dig it deep and on the top place a dove.
And let it be know to all, I died for love.

I like your last two lines.
to me it also seems like you dug an internal grave. That cut deep from her departure.
