When Love Is a Moment

by Richard Machado   May 14, 2008

The views we share
The landscapes we see,
Our lungs filling with air--
Cool and crispy clean,
Take my breathe in breadth
Deeply stunning thoughts
Of somewhere else without depth;
I only dream of being here--down draught
Or not--bracing cold and windy whips
Making skin a shock to touch
And, this scene, evermore precious, of ships,
Water, and sparkling waves elating much
Of me, somewhere deep inside
Filling empty chasms, the crevasse in my soul
The one I didn't want filled, never tried,
Or saw that it could be whole.
Your jacket isn't enough to keep you warm;
The portrait behold tingles your nerves;
My embrace showers you in gentle storm
Allowing for this now tangible world.
