The Concept of You

by Avrii Monrielle   May 15, 2008

I have adored you since
Before forever began,
Before our friendship ever formed.

You have toyed with me,
Made me smile,
Spawned my laughter,
Caused such joy.

I've fantasized
And mesmerized,
Thinking of
Kissing and holding
Every inch of you.

Out of respect,
Out of joy,
Bearing emotion,
I lie captivated.

My perspective is altered
By insolent words:
Words in my head
That you've never heard.

Kissing and holding
Every inch of you.

Pull you into my depth,
Onto my lap,
Close to my chest,
Smothering you.

Run my hand through your hair,
like there's no tomorrow,
Hold your gaze and
Keep you safe.

I reflect on
The concept of you.
