I have to tell you my honest opinion, at first I didn't think it was really interesting, usually the reader is attracted to the very first lines, but well, you managed to end it very nicely and fluently.

First off, I liked the rhyme scheme, very captivating, I've always adored new rhyme schemes no matter how they look, this one was one of my fave :)
Good job on this one hun.
And wish you all the luck in that contest, you do deserve it !
