You have portrayed so much raw emotion into this. From the first stanza to the last..a fatal tale that is oh so true. ((hugs))

The worst part is the question in the last stanza...what to tell your son when he is old enough to understand? Well, if I were in your shoes, the truth, or at least enough truth that his age can understand. e.g. Daddy's in heaven.

Well done on writing down this difficult chapter in your life.

Waw really tragic. My eyes are filled with tears.
This will be difficult to talk about with your child, yet i think he should know. I suggest( as michael had said) the use of simple words to explain , like he's no longer of this world ...
