Shubh Deepavali (haiku)

by Goodbye   Oct 28, 2008

Night of Deepavali
A row of lamps are burning
Festival of Lights

Is our victory
Of Good over the Evil
Shubh Deepavali!

Kandils and diays
Colourful paper lanterns
Hang on the windows

May your times ahead
Be lit with Fun and Laughter
Happiness and Peace

Let Prosperity
Fulfil all your heart
Diwali has come

Well Im not an Indian and neither do I celebrate Depavali, I like how you describe the festive in this strings of haiku, stating only the essence of what the festive is all about. I've also read some of your other works, writing about festive and things related to religion seems to be your forte. Do keep it up
