Another Happy New Year

by SoUrNameIsTia   Jan 1, 2009

Glitters a shinin',
colors thrown wild,
music played loudly,
people compiled from sea to sea.

Five,
just a little further,
the crowd starts to bustle,
oh how the excitement swarms.

Four,
seconds till the cheer is louder,
four seconds closer to spring,
till our families dance for another start,
and until the birds sing.

Three,
the heat is on,
excitement is hot,
laughter bleeds out,
for this year to be gone.

TWO,
a new start to be,
new people,
new friends,
goals set to the degree.

ONE!
a few words are hollered,
through the air to hear,
carried forever until the next,
Happy New Year.
