Mumma

Mothers Day is almost here.
I hear your children give a cheer.
The message seems to me quite clear,
They love you very much.

I've heard the stories of your tricks.
A very necessary fix,
To make the perfect family mix.
A calming mother's touch.

A guiding hand on who they are.
One seeks to be a rising star.
One loving every single car.
One musically inclined.

And the one of your own gender.
You know her spirit can't surrender
You try so hard to not offend her.
Her compassion not confined.

You are "mother" and they love you
Knowing you're amongst the few.
Others seem a bit askew.
You're the one they trust.

When cards and flowers come your way
On this special Mother's Day.
Let the children have their say.
They appreciate you fussed.
