Because we only have today,
We don't even have till sunset,
I knew this wasn't a fairy tale,

You still look at me with a smile,
A grin that sends me high,
Then on the ground I find I'm lying,
Get up? I wont even try,
*I know how you feel. They smile and make you high then let you go with the biggest fall.*
You're the one thing I wont forget,
Although Ill probably always regret,
Your tattoo that I cringe at like a stain,
It'll take some time to fade away,
*I always swore I'd never get a tattoo of a bf's name even if we had been going out for ages because they never usually last and obviously a tattoo never fades, but I know people who have done that and now cringe at the sight of it.*
Please tell my face that its not a goodbye,
Keep the truth to yourself, just tell me the lies,
Don't stand there, acting completely stupid,
You threw the arrow right back at Cupid!
*The truth sometimes hurts but it's always best to know it. I love the ending lines of this stanza so adorable yet saddening. Love it :) *
But even though I hate you, I really, really do,
Theres still a little part of me that will always have love for you,
So when you see me, my breaking heart will never show,
Yes of course Ill miss you, you'll just never know.
*We always fall for the ones that don't fall for us back but yet we always love them no matter how much it hurts. But it's always better to not let them now how hurt they've made you because it just makes it worse. Really enjoyed this poem. Flawless, 5/5. Em*
