Happy 56

by Richard S   Oct 19, 2009

Of all the years that we could be,
56's the best.
Give me this, the year ahead,
And leave behind the rest.

56 will be the year,
The greatest things begin.
All the past has led to this,
And you're assured a win.

26 was fun...I know.
By 36 you settled.
46 you resigned yourself.
You saw yourself as metal.

But now that 56 is here,
Use that life discovered,
To free yourself of uncertainty,
About all that needs uncovered.

Reveal the person you've always been.
Take this year ahead.
Revel in the time you have.
Speak things that went unsaid.

Do the things that matter most.
Love those who are around you.
Appreciate just who you are.
In ways the young have no clue.

So 56 can be the best,
Of any year before.
If you would know but only this,
Your future's to explore.
