The Delicacy of Fruit

by Dan Bloom   Jan 14, 2010

The ocean I would never set foot in,
except my feet are following behind you.
It is cold and salty,
But I forget when you are close to me.

The bitter waves push and crash on us
rolling us closer to the shore,
covering us in sour grains of sand,
and adding texture to our kisses.

The dirty sand is rough and cements partial molds of us,
But it is pure when in the imprinted form of your luscious body.
To touch where your exquisite body has lain
is to feel where those delicious curves have pressed against.

Your body is the exotic fruit of passion
ripening more each day.
The moist taste is so sweetly rich and satisfying
that I crave the mere image of your pink, warm, savory skin.

But, I love more your beating heart.
Sensually, the rhythm pounds and throbs
and makes you feel
exactly the way I want you to.
