Okay i'll simply start off with the first stanza: I liked how you gave a description of what love is It was quite good that you've mentioned its positive and negative aspects. I have to admit i liked this verses best:
It's what holds our world together
And tears it apart
^That is so true. Usually love is supposed to make people feel comfortable and wanted. It gives people a purpose in life. Once it's rejected though it will hurt and cause problems. Nobody deserves to experience the second side of love, though it might be necessary since it will help people realise that love should never be taken for granted.
That warmth radiating from our hearts
Could be ripped out and disappear so quickly as it came
And leave at trail of coldness behind,
Leave its host in pain
Having damaged the very depths of its soul
Longing to recover
^ You've discribed the process so well! It's exactly how you feel if that happens to you. Nice imagery you've used aswell. The last verse finish this stanza perfectly. Regardless how much pain one feels all they want is to feel better again, rather than give up completly.
But a new love will come along*
To mend those wounds or to cause new ones*
And so continues this painful cycle
Preying on the naive
Who are blinded by its mysterious ways
^This is great! The verses i've marked like this * are the one that i like best in this stanza. All in all this stanza increases the level of your poem even more. This is a really heartfelt piece and you expressed your emotions perfectly. Keep up writing.
